Pastels on 5th 2014

This past Saturday, September 13th, the 4th annual Pastels on 5th happened in downtown Loveland.Pastels was founded in 2011 as a benefit event for Alternatives to Violence. It was started by Marcia Moellenberg and Vicky Bryant and has become a "win-win" for Loveland area artists, businesses and community members. Pastels on 5th is a fun and free platform for artists to showcase their work, a way for local businesses to get their name out while supporting a good cause, and an effective fundraiser for Alternatives to Violence and the Southern Larimer County Safehouse Project. The event continues to grow each year and 2014 was the biggest event to date, raising $23,000 in sponsorships and an additional $4,000 in in-kind sponsorships, all of which benefits Alternatives to Violence (ATV). ATV is committed to the internetion in, education about and prevention of domestic violence, sexual assault and other violent crimes. Loveland Ford has been a proud supporter of this event for the past 3 years. Thank you to the artists who have worked so hard, the sponsors who have donated, to the Pastels staff for putting the event together and of course to Alternatives to Violence for the work you do in our community every day!

Northern Colorado Mustang Car Club Partnership

Loveland Ford is excited to announce that we've established a partnership with the Northern Colorado Mustang Car Club! We are now their host dealer, and club members will be meeting at our dealership once a month. Additionally, we are planning some exciting new events together. We are working on a launch event for the 2015 Mustang that will be an introduction of the new pony and a reflection on the past 50 years. We'll be inviting NCMCC members and others in the community to come show of their Mustangs and check out the 50th Anniversary special edition Mustang! Loveland Ford will also be partnering with NCMCC on existing car shows, such as their All American Car Show, which benefits Hearts & Horses of Longmont and Operation Gratitude. We're thrilled about this partnership and happy to give Mustang enthusiasts a place to meet! We're looking forward to the 2015 Mustang launch event and many other fun filled events throughout the year with this great organization!

Drive Safe

Ford Driving Skills for Life is Coming to Denver!

Did you know that teen drivers make up only 7% of Colorado drivers, but account for 15% of fatal accidents? Young drivers are at a higher risk for accidents and it's extremely important that we teach them how to properly handle the responsibility of getting behind the wheel. Ford Driving Skills for Life will be in Denver this week, July 22-23, to help us do just that! They're offering a free teen driver training program at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, with morning and afternoon sessions both days. Any teen with a license or learner's permit is welcome and encouraged to attend. All they need to do is register online and have a consent form signed by a parent or guardian. This is a step up from traditional driving school, as drivers will get behind the wheel with professional drivers to learn more about vehicle handling, hazard recognition and avoiding the dangers of impaired or distracted driving. Please, consider having your teen attend this wonderful program and share this information with anyone you know who has a young driver!

Happy 50th Mustang!

Ford did it again. In celebration of the Mustang's 50th Anniversary, Ford actually assembled a pony on top of the Empire State Building in New York, just as they did in 1964 to debut the first ever Mustang! It wasn't airlifted, it was actually chopped into multiple pieces to fit through the 36 inch wide elevator and re-assembled at the top. This was a HUGE accomplishment, especially considering the snow and wind the team faced while on the 86th floor putting the Mustang back together over night. Despite the weather, the project was a success and the 2015 pony now sits atop the tallest building in New York City! Check out the video below to see how they did it: To keep the celebration going, Ford is unveiling the 50th Anniversary Edition Mustang at the New York Auto Show. Only 1,964 units will be produced, so it's sure to be a highly coveted vehicle! In addition, Mustangs Across America just finished their impressive cross country anniversary drive from CA to NC in time for the Mustang 50th Birthday Celebration hosted by Mustang Club of America at Charlotte Motor Speedway, which takes place April 17-20, 2014. Happy Birthday, Mustang! We've loved you for 50 years and can't wait to see what you'll do in the years ahead!

Ford's Response to Cadillac's Controversial Ad

If you ask me, Ford's recent ad in response to Cadillac's ELR Hybrid Coupe spot featuring actor Neil McDonough, is absolutely brilliant. Cadillac's ad features the actor walking through his huge mansion, sitting by his pool, and talking about what he considered to be the American work ethic. In short, the point of the ad is that Americans work long, hard hours so they can afford things like the Cadillac Hybrid. That it's more important to work hard and get these luxuries than it is to take time off, as people in other countries may do. Many people ridiculed this advertisement for presenting a misguided perspective. Then, along came Ford's response. An ad for the Ford C-Max Energi followed the same structure, but instead featured Pasho Murray, a real person from Detroit who started a company called Detroit Dirt that collects waste and sells it as compost for those who want to create urban gardens. She has a different view on American work ethic, which should be to work hard in order to do some good and make our country, and the world, a better place. Check out both videos below and let us know what YOU think the motivating force behind American work ethic should be!

Ford Uses 3D Printing for Chocolate Mustangs

The 2015 Mustang, chocolate, and 3D printing technology... what more could you want for Valentine's Day? Ford has partnered with 3D Systems' Sugar Lab in Los Angeles to create miniature, but extremely realistic, chocolate and sugar candy 2015 Mustangs. The 3D technology used to create these candies is a smaller scale of the 3D printing technology that was used to prototype parts for the all-new Mustang, including air vents, hood vents, fascia, grille, interior panels, and components of the new 2.3 liter EcoBoost, including the cylinder head, intake manifold and engine block. You'll probably be able to get your hands on the 2015 Mustang itself (Fall of 2014 in the US) before you can get the candies. These were a special one time deal for Valentine's Day, but Ford is discussing the possibility of licensing the candy for mass production. I don't know about you, but I'll be wishing for both the car and the candies next Valentine's Day!
