2021 Ford Bronco

The Bronco is back after years of rumors and speculations. The unveiling is officially scheduled for 6pm MST on Monday, July 13. Loveland Ford will be taking reservations starting immediately after the unveiling. $100 will reserve your piece of history, brought back to life for the modern day. This expertly redesigned, all new 2021 Ford Bronco is what Built Ford Proud is all about. It will be a complex vehicle with genuine off road capability, true to its original spirit. For those who were around to experience to experience the history made by previous Bronco generations, this is a long awaited return. And for those who weren’t here to experience to Bronco in all its historic glory, this will be an exciting new level of capability for a new generation of off road enthusiasts.

Bronco and SUV Legacy

Bronco Legacy

Making its debut in 1966, the Ford Bronco has always done it’s namesake proud, an untamed animal with an independent attitude! The Bronco SUV became a legendary part of Ford’s iconic lineup thanks to its capability, strength and adventurous spirit. When it went on hiatus, it had a loyal following off off-road enthusiasts who were sad to see it go. This passionate following welcomes the all new 2021 Bronco back with open arms!

The term SUV has become so commonplace, you might not know that the Ford Bronco played a role in coining that term. There was no official SUV segment in the market before Ford used the term “sports utility” in one of their 1966 ads for the Bronco. Upon its arrival to the market, the Bronco was offered in 3 body styles: a Roadster with no roof or doors, a Wagon with full steel top and doors and the Half Cab – known as the Sports Utility – with a pickup bed. The Utility characteristics were highlighted by available accessories including a grille guard, snow plow package, winch, power take-off and a tarp. This off-road worthy vehicle was also marketed as “a new kind of sports car with 4 wheel drive,” promising that the Bronco would take customers where the fun is.

Bronco Racing Heritage

Bronco Racing

The Ford Bronco also has a long held racing heritage. Baja is where it made a name for itself. Baja is know to represent greuling and unforgiving conditions, but it allowed the Bronco to make history in 1969. Fifty years ago, the #56 Bronco powered it’s way to the finish line in the Baja 1000 (then known as the Mexican 1000). This was the first overall win for a 4wd vehicle in the 800+ mile journey through the desert. Typically, that overall victory would have been reserved for a custom built trophy truck or motorcycle. This success showcased the strong capability of the Bronco and placed it in the off road racing spotlight.

Prior to the historic Baja 1000 win, two Ford Broncos (one powered by a v6 and one by a v8) entered the Riverside Grand Prix off-road race. Both Broncos took first place in their respective categories. Later, the Bronco continued to take the checkered flag in Baja races, including a 2wd version winning the recently formed Baja 500 in 1970. Big Oly, named after the Olympus Brewing Company, set a new time record for the Baja 1000 in 1971, clocking in at 14 hours and 59 minutes. For a littler perspective, the 1969 win was claimed with a time of 20 hours and 48 minutes!

Finally, in 1972, the Bronco named Big Oly took another Baja 1000 win, with a story that seems fit for the movies. Only 15 miles away from the finish line, Big Oly ran out of fuel. Using a windshield washer hose and an empty tequila bottle, they were able to siphon some gas from a passing vehicle. Despite this setback, it still roared across the finish line to take home yet another off road racing victory!

Made for All Terrains

Bronco Off Road

Dirt. Rocks. Snow. Mud. Ponds. Puddles. Sand. Dunes. These are the elements most drivers do their best to avoid. Off roaders, on the other hand, drive right through them with joy. Ford designed the all new 2021 Bronco for the latter crowd. The off roading experience that the Bronco is ready to tackle means something different in each part of the country, but one thing remains consistent: an adventurous spirit. Here in Loveland, CO and the surrounding mountain areas, the Bronco is ready to tackle mountain trails, rocks, streams, and anything else standing in the way of some of the most epic views Colorado has to offer. Get ready for your next adventure. The Bronco is ready to take you farther than ever before! The long awaited, all-new 2021 Ford Bronco will be unveiled on July 13! We will begin taking reservations for it on that same day. We will keep you posted with the link on our website to place your reservation digitally. Or, you can simply give us a call at (970) 667-2220 to place your reservation over the phone.

We don’t yet know exactly how many two-door or four-door options will produced, so if you’re interested in getting behind the wheel, a reservation is the way to go. The Bronco is anticipated to be the hottest truck of the coming year, so getting your hands on one might be tough without planning ahead. Spy footage of it’s off-road capabilities are impressive, as are rumors about the tech packed in to make off-roading even more efficient and exciting.

Technical details will be released during the unveiling on the 13th, but we do know it will be built on the same frame and in the same Michigan factory as the Ford Ranger pickup.

Check out the teaser below to get a first look! This is a pre-production model, but based on the first official photos above (the outer two images), the general shape looks very similar to the teaser.

Do you need new tires? Are you unsure? There is an extremely simple way to check your tire tread depth at home with no special tools! All you need is a quarter and a penny to get started.

Before using the coin, you check your tires for the “wear indicators” as seen in the video above. Look for these rubber notches between the tread of your tires. They are raised to 2/32 of an inch and will tell you when your tires are completely worn to an unsafe level. Once the indicator is flush with the tread, that means it’s time to replace your tires right away. If your tires do not have these indicators, or if you want to be proactive and get an idea of how much tread you have left before it’s too late, it’s time to use your coins.

How to Use the Coins

First, grab your quarter. Insert it in the space between your tire tread, with George Washington’s head facing down. If your tread surpasses the top his head, you are above 4/32 of an inch and are in good shape. Once the tread comes flush with the top of Washington’s head, that means you are at 4/32 of an inch. While still safe, it’s time to start planning ahead. Depending on how much you drive and on what terrain, you’ll need to replace your tires soon.

If you find that your tread is not even touching Washington’s head, you can grab your penny. Insert the penny in the same way, with Lincoln’s head facing down. When your tread is flush with the top of Lincoln’s head that means you are at 2/32 of an inch. As with the wear indicator, this means it’s time to replace your tires. Regardless of season, low tread is unsafe, reducing traction, increasing stopping distance and increasing chances of getting a flat.

Other Considerations

Make sure you check your tread on all four tires and in more than one spot. If you find that the center of your tires is wearing more than the outer edges, your tire is likely over inflated. On the other hand, if the edges are wearing more quickly than the center, your tires are likely under inflated. When certain tires are wear more quickly than others, you might need a tire rotation or alignment. In this case, we’d be happy to help you figure out what needs done to ensure even wear to not only increase the lifespan of your tires, but also keep you driving safely!

If you do need new tires, view our available discounts here or start shopping tires here.

car-sanitation-tips

Oil changes, tire rotations, battery checks, safety inspections. The list of preventive maintenance actions we perform (or should perform) on our vehicles is seemingly never-ending. And yet for many of us, this list somehow doesn’t include sanitizing.

Cars are a hot spot for germs, bacteria, and viruses. In fact, studies have shown steering wheels to be up to four times dirtier than a public toilet seat. With that in mind, it goes without saying that you should probably take more care to sanitize your car.

Tips for Better Car Sanitation

Below are some car sanitation tips to follow to improve the cleanliness of your ride and keep you and your passengers safe from illness.

Wipe down the surfaces you touch

Think of all the things you touch during your normal commute: door handle, seatbelt and fastener, keys, steering wheel, gear shifter, turn signal knob, radio dial, GPS buttons, heating or air conditioner controls.

Now think of all the things you touched immediately before touching those parts of your car: gas pumps, public restroom doors and sinks, food, pets, nature.

It’s easy to see how our cars can harbor so many germs. Keep a pack of disinfectant wipes or a spray bottle full of soapy water in your car and give those oft-touched surfaces a regular rubdown.

Take out the trash

For some reason, we tend to treat our cars more like a garbage can than a second home. Fast food wrappers, empty coffee cups, and dirty laundry pile up in cup holders, consoles, floors, back seats and trunks. Coupled with the heat, humidity and stale air that can be housed inside of a car, and it’s a recipe for mold, bacteria, and even viruses.

Become more diligent about tossing out trash when you reach your destination. Clean up spills before they have a chance to dry. And don’t store your dirty gym clothes in the car.

Get some fresh air

Germs, bacteria, and viruses can also be airborne. Your vehicle should have an air filter located inside the cabin which filters the air that enters your car from the engine. When you think about how dirty the air in the engine is — think oil, grease, dead bugs, and road pollution — you quickly realize how important it is to keep your cabin filter clean.

Your cabin air filter should be changed out at least a couple of times per year, and it’s wise to check it each time you have your oil changed.

Don’t skimp on the service

While you should certainly make more of an effort to sanitize your car, it shouldn’t come at the expense of proper service. Visit the Ford Service Center at Loveland Ford in Loveland, Colorado, and let our technicians change out your cabin air filter or perform a variety of other services designed to keep your car running safe and smooth.
And be sure to check out our service specials for discounts on batteries, brake inspections, wiper blades, and more. A little sanitation effort combined with proper service will keep you and your passengers safe out on the road this summer.
