The Ford Co-Pilot360™ Safety Suite
Active Park Assist
Active Park Assist takes the stress out of parallel parking. First, it uses camera and radar technology to detect if an available space is large enough to accommodate your car. Once activated, Active Park Assist will take over steering as you accelerate, shift, and brake easily into your space.
With available Enhanced Active Park Assist, you can navigate in and out of parallel, reverse, and perpendicular parking spots. Certain Ford models even include the Active Park Assist 2.0 button. Simply shift to neutral and remove your foot from the brake as the system parks autonomously for you.
BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System)
When merging onto the highway or responding to a sudden lane closure ahead, BLIS® uses advanced radar sensors to help identify any vehicles that may be traveling in your blind spots. Once the turn signal is activated, an indicator light will alert you to any vehicles traveling close behind you so that you can change lanes safely.
Cross-Traffic Alert uses similar technology to alert you to any passing vehicle as you back out of a driveway or parking space. If a car is detected, it will emit an audible warning so you can brake and wait for the car to pass. Select pickups and full-size SUVs offer Trailer Coverage which extends BLIS® coverage to conventional trailers up to 9 feet wide and 33 feet long.
Pre-Collision Assist
Pre-Collision Assist utilizes a front-facing camera to measure the speed and distance of the vehicle ahead. If the system detects that you may be approaching the vehicle too quickly, it will emit an audible alert prompting you to brake. Automatic Emergency Braking precharges the brakes and heightens the sensitivity for you so you can make those precious moments before a potential collision count. If no brake response is detected, the brakes can automatically activate to help avoid or mitigate collision.
